At the International Kite festival come join the venue that in 2009 had a presence of more than 80 kitists, from 31 different nations, hundreds of Indian kitist, and thousands of just-viewers and admirers and, of course, the organizers, who made this Kite festival an affair that cuts across the geographies.

INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL WITH GOLDEN TRIANGLE TOUR

This itinerary covers the most popular tourist circiut in India i.e. the Golden Triangle which includes Delhi, Agra and Jaipur along with the International Kite festival being held at Ahemdabad. The festival is around for 5 days from 10-14 of Jan every year, however, the real International Feel and Events happens on the 10 and 11 Jan. You also get to see Udaipur, the beautiful rajasthani city of Lakes. The program can, however, be customized as per your requirement.

DAY 1 – New Delhi

Welcome to Incredible India : Welcome to Incredible India! You are welcomed & picked up by our executive from the International airport and transferred to the hotel in your private car. (Our executive will be waiting outside the custom area with a placard of your name) We will have a welcome briefing covering the various aspects of the tour (ensuring that you have the best of the Indian holiday) and you will be handed over the India travel kit containing all relevant documents of your trip (air/rail tickets, hotel vouchers, transport, guide, sightseeing vouchers, writing pads with other travel related documents). No pre-planned activities for the day but the car & the driver will be at your disposal.

DAY 2 – New Delhi

The splendid capital of India : New Delhi is a city that breathes history as well as modernity & its architectural masterpieces right from the Mughal era to the British era & present day are all worth a visit.

We start the day by visiting the Red fort (Lal Qila). Built in 1648 this is a brilliant red sandstone fort built by the same Mughal emperor who built the Taj Mahal. We also visit other interesting sites like the Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Qutub Minar & the Humanyun’s tomb & drive through the colonial buildings with (photo stops en route) which still retain its complete charm.

DAY 3 – New Delhi > Agra (200 km / 5 hrs)

Epitome of love : We drive towards south east to reach Mughal city – Agra. Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the world-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Mughal emperors.

We will visit the most adorable monument of the World- TAJ MAHAL – the epitome of love. We also visit the Agra Fort & if time permits the tomb of Itmadullah.

DAY 4 – Agra > Jaipur (235 km / 5 hrs)

Elephant Festival : We drive towards west direction for the beautiful pink city – Jaipur, which was painted pink to honor the visit of Prince Albert in 1876 as the Rajputs considered it a color of hospitality & ceremony.

The evening is for you to enjoy the festivities at the Chaugan Stadium. Holi is a festival of colors and so is the Elephant festival. It seems to be all about colors, be they the decked up elephants, dancers in colourful attires or the big colourful turbans (head gears) of the local Rajasthani men.

DAY 5 – Jaipur

Pink City : Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of city including a visit to the Amber fort, which we climb on an elephant’s back or in a jeep. The main attractions are the Sukh Mandir (Temple of Contentment – an aptly named pleasure chamber, cooled by a stunning water cascade) and the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror palace). We also stop to see some of the architectural marvels of Jaipur like the Palace of wind, Jantar Mantar (the observatory) & the city palace complex.

Enjoy a traditional Rajasthani meal for Dinner at an ethnic resort in the evening.

DAY 6 – Jaipur > Udaipur (420 km / 7 hrs)

Venice of the East : After breakfast drive for Udaipur. Check into the hotel for some rest. In the evening enjoy a boat ride in lake Pichola. Overnight in Udaipur.

DAY 7 – Udaipur

Venice of the East : The beautiful city of lakes Udaipur is often referred to as the Venice of the east and more so locally as the Kashmir of the Rajasthan.

Visit the city palace complex, which houses a museum and a hotel. One of the most fascinating parts of the palace is the Mor Chowk (Peacock courtyard), with its walls covered with a dramatic glass mosaic relief of dancing peacocks. You also see the Jagdish temple & the garden of the maids.

DAY 8 – Ahemdabad (250 km / 5 hrs)

The Manchester of the East : Early morning drive to Ahemdabad that has earned the tag of ‘manchester of the east’ due its numerous textile mills. Check into the hotel and later set out to do some local sight seeing that includes Adalaj ki vav (step-well), Sadi Sayyid mosque, Sabarmati ashram, Calico textile museum.

DAY 9 – Ahemdabad

International Kite Festival : The entire day is free for you to enjoy the festivities at the venue of the International kite festival. The city has numerous ice-cream parlours that serve an excellent variety – an absolute value for money.

DAY 10 – Ahemdabad

Tour Ends : Day at your own till drop at the Airport

INTERNATIONAL KITE FESTIVAL TOUR : 8 DAYS ITINERARY

Before joining the festivities at Ahemdabad Kite Festival this itinerary covers Delhi, the national capital, and two very popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan, namely Udaipur and Jodhpur. The program, however, can be further customized as per your requirement.

DAY 1 – New Delhi

Blue City : Board morning flight for Jodhpur. Check into the hotel. Later set out to climb up the majestic Mehrangarh fort (one of the best preserved fort with modern techniques of audio guides) and explore the various sections within. Also visit the marble cenotaph at Jaswant Thada before returning back to the hotel. Overnight in Jodhpur.

DAY 4 – Jodhpur > Ranakpur > Udaipur (270 km / 5-6 hrs)

Ranakpur – Poetry on marble: After breakfast drive for Udaipur via Ranakpur where you see the intricately carved massive Jain temple. Here people get disappointed when they see its plain exteriors. But the moment they step in, all their disappointment is replaced by wondrous awe. Enjoy a guided tour of the temple. Later drive to reach Udaipur. Overnight in Udaipur.

DAY 5 – Udaipur
