SOUTH INDIA TOUR WITH MAMALLAPURAM DANCE FESTIVAL

The best time to visit South India tropics is the time for one of India’s finest Dance Festival at Mamallapuram. Catch the best of Indian dancers performing live. The venue, Mahabalipuram, itself is a world-recognized heritage site with more than 2000 years old history and a small coastal resort which lies en route many of the south indian sojorn. Besides, Chennai and Kanchipuram form the other attractions with worlds second longest beach and amazing temple architectures respectively.

Day 01 Chennai

Welcome to Incredible India : You are welcomed & picked up by our executive from the main exit of the airport and transferred to the hotel in your private coach (Our executive will be waiting outside the custom area with a placard of your name). We will have a welcome briefing covering the various aspects of the tour (ensuring that you have the best of the Indian holiday) and you will be handed over the India travel kit containing all relevant documents of your trip (air/rail tickets, hotel vouchers, transport, guide, sightseeing vouchers, writing pads with other travel related documents).

Day 02 Chennai

Metro city : Set out to visit the ancient Shiva Temple at Kapaleeswar, Santhome Church and the local bazaar. We will visit the various attractions of the place and will explore the market as well. You may spend the evening at Marina Beach – hailed as the second longest beach of the world.Overnight stay at Chennai.

Day 03 Chennai > Kanchipuram (75 km/1.5 hrs) >Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram) (66 km/1 hr)

Architectural marvels at Kanchipuram and the Dance Festival : In the morning drive for Kanchipuram, one of the seven sacred cities of India which was the capital of the kingdoms of the Pallavas, Cholas and Rajas of Vijayanagar. Visit its famous temples of Kallasanatar and Ekambaranatar.

After lunch proceed to the World Heritage Site of Mahabalipuram. This group of monuments, founded by the Pallava kings, was carved out of rock along the Coromandel Coast in the 7th and 8th centuries. It is known especially for its rathas (temples in the form of chariots), mandaps (cave sanctuaries), giant open-air reliefs such as the famous ‘Descent of the Ganges”, and the Shore temple. In the evening attend the dance festival organized against the backdrop of Arjuna’s penance. Overnight at Mahabalipuram

Day 04 Mahabalipuram

Kingdom Of Pallavas : In the morning, after breakfast set out for a sight seeing tour of Mahabalipuram. It includes the World Heritage Sites of the Shore temple and the Five Raths. You can also visit VGP golden beach, an amusement park that is a popular venue for the shootings of South Indian movies.

The evening is again reserved for the dance festival – a feast for your eyes and ears. Overnight at Mahabalipuram

Day 05 Mahabalipuram > Pondicherry (132 km / 3 hrs)

French bastion of yester years : Next morning drive to Pondicherry. It was once the French territory in India and up to this day retains an air of that time. Check in to the hotel for some rest.

Later enjoy a sight seeing tour. The tourist attractions here include the Aurobindo ashram, museum, the Sacred heart Church, the Botanical gardens etc. Have an overnight stay.

Day 06 Pondicherry > Chennai (165 km / 4 hrs)

Tour ends & memories Begin : Today after breakfast you can do the rest of sightseeing (in case you could not complete it the previous day). Later drive back to Chennai for your onward journey.
