For the day you can enjoy shopping in the colourful market of the city and in the evening have a typical Rajasthani dinner at an ethnic resort.
DAY 3 - Jaipur
Elephant ride : Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of city including a visit to the Amber fort, which we climb on an elephant's back or by a jeep. The main attractions are the Sukh Mandir (Temple of Contentment - an aptly named pleasure chamber, cooled by a stunning water cascade) and the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror palace) here. We also stop to see some of the architectural marvels of Jaipur like the Palace of wind, Jantar Mantar (the observatory) & the City Palace complex. Evening is free for shopping in the colorful bazaars of Jaipur.
DAY 4 - Jaipur > Bikaner (360 km / 7 hrs)
The Desert Citadel : Early morning drive to quickly explore the Shekhawati region (famous for Frescoed havelis) & later drive to the desert citadel - "Bikaner". Tucked away in the harsh desert region of western Rajasthan lies the relatively remote city of Bikaner. Upon arrival we visit the unusual Junagarh Fort. Unusual because, unlike all the major forts of Rajasthan which are on hilltops, this one was built on the desert plains itself. The palace complex's sumptuously decorated interiors are better preserved than in almost any other region. Particularly, Anup Mahal with its ornately lacquered walls in red & gold and panels of dazzling colored glass inlay set over the coronation throne.
Overnight in Bikaner.
DAY 5 - Bikaner >Jaisalmer (350 Kms / 6 Hrs)
The Golden Oasis : We drive westward & we reach the golden oasis called Jaisalmer en route stopping at Pokaran to visit Fort, market etc. After taking our Lunch we again proceed for Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer appears as if a master-craftsman took one huge piece of sandstone and patiently carved out the entire city. We visit the beautiful man made lake Gadsisar (the only source of water Jaisalmer had for years) & the royal cenotaphs at Bada Bagh.
DAY 6 - Jaisalmer
Rolling Sand dunes : We visit one of the most exotic forts of Rajasthan in the first half of the day exploring it from every nook and corner and take some delightful pictures. Also explore the Manak Chowk and Havelis like Patwon ki Haveli.
For the second half of the day we explore the markets & then drive towards the rolling sand dunes enjoying a camel ride at sunset. Overnight at Jaisalmer.
DAY 7 - Jaisalmer > Jodhpur (305 km / 6 hrs)
The Sun city : Driving towards south we reach the sun city Jodhpur (also called the blue city) by surface. Jodhpur city was founded way back in 1459
We climb up the majestic Mehrangarh fort (one of the best preserved fort with modern techniques of audio guides) and explore the various sections within. We also visit the marble cenotaph at Jaswant Thada before returning back to the hotel. Evening free. Overnight in Jodhpur.
DAY 8 - Jodhpur > Udaipur (269 km / 5-6 hrs)
Ranakpur - Poetry on marble : Driving south we reach Ranakpur where you see the largest & the most beautiful Jain temple in India. Here people get disappointed when they see its plain exteriors. But the moment they step in, all their disappointment is replaced by wondrous awe. Later drive to reach Udaipur. Enjoy evening boat ride. Overnight in Udaipur.
DAY 9 - Udaipur
City Palace : After breakfast visit the city palace complex, which houses a museum and a hotel. One of the most fascinating parts of the palace is the Mor Chowk (Peacock courtyard), with its walls covered with a dramatic glass mosaic relief of dancing peacocks. Also visit the Jagdish temple & the garden of the maids.
In the evening transfer to airport to take onward flight.
