IATA (International Air Transport Association) is an international industry trade body, representing over 230 airlines of international repute. Created by a group of airlines, IATA also represents and serves the airline industry in general. IATA is pivotal in the worldwide accreditation of travel agents, granting them permission to sell airline tickets.

IATO (Indian Association of Tour Operators) is the Indian apex body of the tourism industry. It has more than 4000 members from all segments of tourism industry. IATO has international acceptance and it is increasing its international networking with professional bodies.

TAAI (Travel Agents Association of India) was established in 1951 to protect the interests of those, who are engaged in the tourism industry. TAAI represents more than 1800 active members including accredited travel agencies, airlines, GSA, hotels and tour operators.
