Pushkar camel fair is a grand display of Rajasthan’s cultural and social spirit – spellbounding folk music and dances, camel races, tug-of-war, camel beauty contests and all. During the fair, Pushkar turns into a bustling temporary tent town when thousands of tourists, pilgrims, local rural people, traders, and camels and more camels tread this otherwise sleepy setting.
The grand affair actually centers on the trade mart of camels, horses and bullocks and the holy dip in the sacred waters of Pushkar lake and visit to the Temple of Hindu God of Creation, Brahma (the only one in the world). Tourists & pilgrims from around the world and traders from the nearby states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir flock in for their respective businesses.

DAY 2 –Â New DelhiÂ
The splendid capital of India :Â New Delhi is a city that breathes history as well as modernity & its architectural masterpieces right from the Mughal era to the British era & present day are all worth a visit.
We start the day by visiting the Red fort (Lal Qila). Built in 1648 this is a brilliant red sandstone fort built by the same Mughal emperor who built the Taj Mahal. We also visit other interesting sites like the Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Qutub Minar & the Humanyun’s tomb & drive through the colonial buildings with (photo stops en route) which still retain its complete charm.
Epitome of love :We drive towards south east to reach Mughal city – Agra. Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the world-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Mughal emperors.
We will visit the most adorable monument of the World- TAJ MAHAL – the epitome of love. We also visit the Agra Fort & if time permits the tomb of Itmadullah.
Architectural & Astronomical genius :Â We drive towards west for the beautiful pink city – Jaipur, which was painted pink to honor the visit of Prince Albert in 1876 as the Rajputs considered it a color of hospitality & ceremony.
Pink City :Â Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of city including a visit to the Amber fort, which we climb on an elephant’s back or in a jeep. The main attractions are the Sukh Mandir (Temple of Contentment – an aptly named pleasure chamber, cooled by a stunning water cascade) and the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror palace). We also stop to see some of the architectural marvels of Jaipur like the Palace of wind, Jantar Mantar (the observatory) & the city palace complex.
Pushkar Fair celebration :Â Â After breakfast we join the festivities at the Pushkar Fair ground. Depending upon the day we get to see the scheduled event. Few events are: classical and devotional music; animal decoration and race competitions (camels, horses and nagauri bullock);Â cow milking competition; turban tying andtilak competitions; Indian Bride competition; Art and craft Bazaar; folk songgs and dances; rural sports; tug-of-war and so on.
